Take Back Women’s Equality Day Was a Massive Success!

WHAT! AN! AWESOME! DAY!!!!
On Friday, August 26th, Sisters United, along with Democracy In Action (DIA), National Organization of Women (NOW-SD), American Association of University Women (AAUW) South Dakota Youth Activism we co-hosted “Take Back Women’s Equality Day”! We had a strong turn out, the music was awesome, the speakers were passionate and most importantly, we all stood together to send the message that “WE”RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT, ANYMORE!”

  • The incredible organizations who showed up to help spread information, resources and support for women’s equality: NOW-SD, WAVI, South Dakota Nurses Association,  Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, Women and Trans Musicians Network, AAUW, OLO Get out the Vote and DIA
  • The Eloquent Speakers:  Jim Leach, Dr Marvin Buehner and Reverend Canon Cody Maynus

Also, a special thank you to those running for office and who have committed to standing up for women’s equality when they are elected:  Jamie Smith for SD Governor, Vince Vidal for State House in district 33, Darla Drew for House for District 34, Christine Stephenson for House for District 32, Nichole Heenan for Senate in District 32 and Collin Duprel, running for the SD House seat against Dusty Johnson.
